Reclaim Your Swagger – Judges 6:12

You know how hard it is to blog about anything God related these days? People always throw the whole, “Oh I’m not religious, so I can’t read your post..” What? I don’t consider myself a fashion person, you still see me supporting and commenting on fashion blogs, lol.

Reclaim Your Swagger - Judges 6:12

Anyways, I was watching Sunday’s morning sermon this morning and I wanted to post my notes for it, because it really ties into what I’ve been talking about in a few of my personal blog posts. It’s really a great message and who knows, you might just needed a little push today. Enjoy!

Reclaim Your Swagger – “Who do you think you are?”

“Again..” God still puts his faith in you, time after time. – Judges 6:1-6

Israel’s confidence is shot, because every time they get a crop or animal or something to help them survive, it’s taken from them. (compares to swarms of locus – taken over).

When something happens in your life, you swing to the extremes. When you’re in a difficult situation, you must focus on the positive things in life and not on the things that are going wrong in your life. You must make the best of  what you have and not what you don’t have.

Sometimes we’re in rough times, because we made a dumb choice to get there. We gotta own it! You gotta own where you at, you can will continue to blame it on some one else and always depend on someone else to get you out of the mess you’re in, but you have to get out of it yourself.

You’re in this place, because you’re in a place where your sick and tired of being sick and tired. That’s where God comes in.

3 WAYS YOU CAN RECLAIM YOUR SWAGGER

1) Confidence in God’s Faithfulness

Judges 6:7-10

You get in a cycle and you think it’s the only way you can live, it has became your new normal. You are in slaved in something, God didn’t plan you to be there. You have to want to get free to be free. God just snatched you out of your wrong ways and blessed you with positive things. Once you get set free from it, you will never want to be slaved again. God wants to give you forgiveness and hope.

** make a forgetfulness journal – write it down and remind yourself for later **

God is forever faithful, when we are faithless.

2) Confidence in the word of God

“If the Lord is with us, why are all these bad things happening?” – Judges 6:13

People talk about how amazing God is, where is God when times are rough? If you want to be set free,
you gotta do something about it. As soon as you put some effort into it. God can’t do it all for you.

“you’re a mighty warrior, I am with you and you will win..” – Judges 6:16

God can see something on the inside of you that no one else can see. So God will talk to the person he
thinks you are. God will see you for who you are, not for how the world sees you. God says, I have
plans for you, I know you’re powerfull.

“When is my turn, God?” If you take that small strength you have, if you combine your strength with God, there’s no battle you can’t overcome. But you have to own the place you’re in. You have to own the plae and getting out of
that place. You choose your behavior, you have to own it.

“God just made me that way…” Not God’s fault, no one’s fault but your own. You’re responsible for YOU and YOU alone.

3) Confidence in the purpose of God

“I’m a mighty warrior.. I got this.. God is with me..” – Judges 6:27

God gives you the confidence, because got has FAITH in you because he has something planned for you, so don’t count yourself out. You didn’t go through all of that bad stuff in your life, God put you through that, because he has a plan for you.

I don’t know about you, but this is what I needed to hear this morning.. This was too good not to share!
